Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, the largest gun violence prevention advocacy group in the country, is seeking a passionate, dedicated professional to join our team as a Compliance & Reporting Manager. This position is part of the Office of the General Counsel (“OGC”) Department of Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, and Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund (“Everytown”), and oversees OGC’s role in ensuring timely, accurate and efficient reporting of the organizations’ lobbying, campaign finance, trademark, and charitable fundraising filings. The Compliance & Reporting Manager will also help to develop, implement and monitor procedures for ensuring compliance with both internal and legal rules, including but not limited to intellectual property, tax laws, and contract management.

We’re looking for a flexible problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail to join our team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Helping to enhance, manage, and enforce procedures for collecting information required on campaign finance, lobbying and charitable registration reports, including but not limited to:
  • Working with the OGC attorneys to develop fact sheets, policies and guidelines for staff on requirements and procedures;
  • Training staff on requirements and procedures;
  • Maintaining spreadsheets tracking reportable activity;
  • Facilitating communication between departments and outside consultants preparing reports.
  • Working with attorneys to register and maintain trademarks, including working with program staff to identify required materials for trademark applications.
  • Helping to develop, implement and enforce procedures for contract management; may assist as well with negotiating and drafting contracts with vendors.
  • Draft grant agreements, contribution letters and other coalition partner agreements in consultation with counsel.
  • Assist with a variety of other nonprofit compliance and governance matters, including helping to enforce policies and procedures regarding tax laws applicable to affiliated Section 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a paralegal, compliance, or comparable role; JD optional
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to self-start and complete projects independently
  • Ability to explain complicated concepts to a general audience
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external constituents
  • Flexibility and an ability to creatively solve problems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced organization
  • Ability to handle confidential organizational matters
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to rapidly shift between multiple projects and priorities
  • Persistent and dogged in the face of obstacles
  • Ability to maintain a sense of humor
  • Familiarity with Google Apps (incl. Google sheets or Excel spreadsheets) preferred
