*Children’s Law Center is currently operating remotely. This position will work from home, coming into the office as needed for select tasks, until the organization returns to the office.

 

Job Summary:

The Development and Executive Assistant provides cross-departmental support on a wide range of development goals and activities. Responsibilities include processing donations and acknowledgments, providing event management support, and researching donors. This position supports the Executive Director and Chief Development Officer as well as the Governing Board and Emeritus Board. The Development and Executive Assistant directly reports to the Development Associate for Operations.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

The Development and Executive Assistant has varied responsibilities, often providing ad hoc support to a diverse array of projects. The following are specific responsibilities for this role:

 

Development Team Activities and Support

  • Process all gifts and ensure compliance with accounting and coding procedures.
  • Lead our donor acknowledgment process, ensuring that letters appropriately thank donors, steward our relationship with the donor and are delivered timely. 
  • Train other staff to provide back-up support for gift processing and acknowledgment production and manage the process for quality control.
  • Coordinate logistics for mailings and electronic outreach to donors.
  • Lead execution of Thanksgiving mailing project, Tribute Giving email campaigns, and other mailings as assigned.
  • Research current and prospective donors at the direction of the development team.
  • Provide logistical support to other team members for events and campaigns.
  • Circulate agendas, take, and distribute minutes from team meetings.

 

Executive Director and Chief Development Officer Support

  • Manage the ED’s and CDO’s calendars, scheduling meetings and ensuring that they have the materials they need for meetings and events.
  • Manage the ED and CDO’s call and task lists in OneNote, coordinating tasks with other development staff.
  • Record ED and CDO donor exchanges (email, phone or in person) in DonorPerfect database.
  • Take and distribute minutes from staff meetings.
  • Provide other administrative support as needed.

 

Governing and Emeritus Board Support

  • Manage board meeting and committee meeting logistics.
  • Take minutes at board meetings.
  • Coordinate the production of the executive director’s report and other materials as needed.
  • Research prospective board members.

 

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs (Office 365 or 2016) software, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent professional judgment and ability to maintain confidential information
  • Proficient at managing multiple assignments through clear and direct communication
  • Adept at working independently and as a team member
  • Ability to work efficiently and problem-solve.
  • Works well in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
  • Experience with databases a plus.
  • Project management experience a plus.

 

Education

  • College experience preferred.

 

Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $40,000 annually.
