Description

The Nature Connection seeks a Marketing and Communications Manager to oversee communications and expand awareness of our growing therapeutic and educational nature programs. We bring year-long nature programs to at-risk youth and adults of all abilities throughout Greater Boston.


The individual in this role will plan and execute communications and marketing activities to support The Nature Connection’s unique mission and strategic goals. Part-time, 20 hours per week, with 1-2 days on site in Concord MA. This position reports to the Executive Director and will play a key role in meeting ambitious goals to scale up programming over the next three years.


Primary Responsibilities:

Plan and Execute Digital Communications:

  • Constant Contact communications
  • Manage Email communications and contact database
  • Write and Manage all Press Releases, online and print
  • Manage Social Media (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Oversee messaging across all platforms
  • Oversee website and develop new content


Write Content for Communications:

  • Newsletters
  • Grant proposals
  • Press releases
  • E-news, e-blasts, digital event publicity
  • Program marketing materials
  • Develop compelling, consistent messaging


Develop Visual Materials and Special Projects:

  • Recruit and coordinate photographers
  • Plan and oversee video projects
  • Develop online training program, in collaboration with staff
  • Write and coordinate material for grant proposals
  • Travel periodically to NC program sites throughout Greater Boston


Skills/Demonstrated Experience:

  1. WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Constant Contact, Microsoft Office, Social Media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  2. Excellent writing skills
  3. Demonstrated ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  4. Excellent attention to detail, strong editing skills
  5. Work both independently and as part of a small team
  6. Superior communication skills in writing, in person, online
  7. Sense of humor and flexibility
  8. Commitment to inclusion and improving the lives of at-risk youth and individuals living with disabilities
