Position Summary

ScholarMatch is seeking a full-time, exempt Programming Lead to play an important role in our non-profit. The Scholars Program Programming Lead is responsible for implementing all persistence and career programming including curriculum design on persistence and career content, and event coordination. The Programming lead also oversees the alumni committee and provides support to the alumni committee with programming and event implementation. This position reports to the Director of College and Career Programs.

This position is ideal for a candidate who has a passion for our mission, curriculum development skills, knowledge of persistence barriers and career development for first-generation college students, excellent event and project management skills, and interest in using data to improve effectiveness and advance our mission.


Major Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute all aspects of the Scholars Program programming and events, which includes persistence, career and alumni related program elements, curriculum development, volunteer retention events and supporting the alumni committee 
  • Lead implementation of the Scholars Program programming including: hosting project kick-offs, updating existing and developing new curriculum as needed, overseeing event logistics including: booking event venues, food, tracking attendance, identifying and securing guest speakers
  • Implementation of multiple student events, workshops, and programming throughout the calendar year, including summer events
  • Oversee annual care package distribution, update student documents, oversee student document and survey collection related to events and programming elements
  • Gather insight from Advisors and Advising Manager to inform event design and curriculum development
  • Revamp existing student programming to best meet current student needs as needed and work with the Director to identify new programming to add. 
  • Share student experience information and coordinate implementation of career programming for upperclassmen 
  • Collect and track robust student data to analyze effectiveness of program and events, regularly review the data to assess student outcomes
  • Ensure all yearly program elements and tasks are accurately inputted into SM internal systems and project management software to effectively manage student communications and events
  • Track expenses for events and various programming elements within the purview of the role and ensuring adherence to spending limits
  • Maintain close communication and collaborate with the development team to provide partners with updates as they pertain to program elements within the purview of this role
  • Help inform yearly programs goals and KPIs related to events and programming


Alumni Committee Support 

  • Implement selection process for the Alumni Committee and support the committee with logistics and budget management, as it relates to event planning and communication
  • Advise committee members on activity planning 
  • Review meeting minutes, post-event summaries, and climate survey report to guide committee members in strategic planning
  • Coach committee members, as a group or individually, to meet the goals of the Alumni Committee
  • Liaise with and build relationships with key stakeholders at colleges and universities for purposes of building collaborative relationships to inform curriculum and implement programming 
  • Willingly collaborate with other team members to assist with special projects as needed
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Three (3) years of project management experience required in a related field
  • Must be able to work traditional business hours (9-5, 8-4), with occasional evening and weekends for events
  • Experience developing curriculum 
  • Knowledge of setting programming objectives and experience designing career-related programs
  • Detailed and current knowledge of higher education: financial aid, academic advising, student life, and alumni engagement
  • Knowledge of career development and support needs for first-generation college students
  • Experience working with first-generation college students and alumni
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a collaborative open-plan work environment
  • Strong public speaking, communication,writing, and project management skills
  • Experience in the development or creation of curriculum, trainings, and student events 
  • Must be able to perform all functions of this position within what would be deemed to be reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities throughout the organization
  • Must be comfortable working in an anti-racist orgnaization with a diverse group of external callers and visitors and internal staff at all levels

Starting salary is commensurate with experience, regional location, and is based on a competitive public interest salary scale.
