About the Center:
Founded in 1982, the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law is one of the most innovative legal programs in the nation designed specifically for low income families in turmoil. The focus of the Center’s efforts is on legal problems involving custody, visitation, support of children, domestic violence, and establishing parentage.
General Position Description:
This individual will handle the major administrative functions of the office and will work directly with the senior management of the Center. Under the direction of the Deputy Director, this position’s primary areas of responsibility include human resources, finance, information technology, insurance, suite maintenance and general administration. This position will maintain all administrative files related to the above areas. The successful candidate will have: a strong sense of teamwork with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; ability to prioritize; flexibility and good judgment; ambition to develop new skills and be highly organized and detail- oriented. This position will report directly to the Deputy Director. This is a non-exempt full time position.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Human Resources preferred.
· Two years of professional administrative experience in office management
· Strong computer skills.
· Solid experience with QuickBooks, Excel and Microsoft Office.
· Good interpersonal skills, and capacity to communicate effectively and ability to discretely handle sensitive tasks.
