Job Description

Baltimore Corps,a rapidly growing nonprofit organization, is seeking amotivated, dependable, and adaptable Chief of Staffto advance organizational effectiveness by providing direct administrativesupport to Baltimore Corps’ Vice President.



●    Plan and manage Vice President’sschedule, including coordinating with constituents, prioritizing time strategically, and ensuring Vice President’sschedule is followed and respected

●    Keep the Vice President organized and on top of what is happening within the organization, as well as within Baltimore City’s Social Impact sector 

●    Set up and implement systems to streamline and automate processes, where possible

●    Manage the Vice President’s credit card expense reporting, calendar, and reimbursement requests

Meeting and Event Management

●    Coordinate and support meetings, including preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up 

●    Develop objectives and agendas for Vice President’s meetings Baltimore Corps team members  

●    Liaise with Baltimore Corps’ Board of Directors, bridging communications and coordination smoothly

●    Oversee meeting preparation and planning for Board of Directors; support Vice President in managing interactions with CEO, board chair and committee leaders 

●    Provide logistical planning of Baltimore Corps events

●    Represent the Vice President at community meetings and events, when needed 

Executive Communications

●    Collect and advance high-priority decisions and follow-up that Vice Presidentneeds to oversee on a day-to- day basis

●    Provide effective and efficient communication to the Baltimore Corps team and its constituents on behalf of the Vice President

●    Provide communications support: drafting emails, reports, memos, presentations, internal and external communications, and/or social media posts on behalf of the Vice President

Project Management

●    Act as a key thought partner, brainstorming & identifying solutions to challenges

●    Manage a variety of long-term, cross-organizational projects

●    Other duties as assigned by the Vice President 


●      3+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, with a track record of achieving quality results

●      Strong written and verbal communication skills 

●     Attention to detail; “no dropped balls” mentality

●      Demonstrated excellence in judgment, problem solving, and decision-making to advance Vice President’s  and organization’s strategic goals

●     Excellent at managing up

●     Strong track record of successfully managing multiple deadlines

●     Self-starter; can tackle projects and tasks with minimal guidance or direction

●      Demonstrated ability to work flexibly, efficiently, and diplomatically with diverse constituent groups

●     Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships internally and externally

●      Solution-driven, with the ability to effectively problem-solve

●      Strong conflict-resolution skills

●      Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends, as required

●     Knowledge of Salesforce and/or a willingness to learn

●     Proficiency in Google Suite 

●    Must have access to reliable transportation

●      Alignment with the mission and core values of Baltimore Corps


Timeline and Compensation

The Chief of Staff is a salaried position, with health and dental benefits. Baltimore Corps is proud to offer additional benefits for our employees including, but not limited to, generous vacation time, wellness policies, volunteer opportunities, and flexible work hours. The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. Baltimore Corps anticipates filling the role no later than September 2018.
