GRADE: MGT C; Salary begins at $85,733

LOCATION: Los Angeles Regional Office

This position is responsible for a broad range of coordination, financial and administrative functions in SEIU's Los Angeles Regional Office including assisting Division and Department Directors as needed to ensure all staff adheres to SEIU administrative policy and procedure and offices are operating at optimal efficiency. Lead administrative liaison for International staff working off site in the region. The position will also assist Senior Leadership staff with multiple tasks including managing projects, communication and coordinate with Local Union leader and administrative support.

Performs a wide range of duties assigned by the International Union, including but not limited to the following:

  • Develops and maintains systems to track and store critical information related to the office operation.
  • Monitors the regional office budget on a regular basis including reviewing expenses and reimbursement to locals.
  • Identifies areas to streamline, reduce expenses and implement changes; provides support to Local Unions and International Union field campaigns on operational needs such as budget, personnel issues, etc.
  • Manages contracts with vendors and suppliers to support the office operation, campaigns and special projects and other expenses.
  • Provides administrative support to various senior staff in the office.
  • Provides administrative support to various SEIU special projects
  • Provides logistical support to the Regional Office for staff meetings, key events, and assists campaigns with booking local travel.
  • Successfully sees a project management process through its full lifecycle; with an ability to adapt to the changing demands of the project and the team.
  • Coordinates with department managers and Human Recourses regarding all staff issues, including hiring, promotions, terminations, sick leave, etc.
  • Manages facilities and space for the Regional office including distribution of office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, pagers, cell phone, etc.
  • Handles inquiries and negotiate prices with vendors, and handles all paperwork within the Department associated with Regional Office billing.
  • Assist SEIU Local Union Affiliates and Partners with meeting and event coordination support in LA regional office
  • Performs other duties as required to support the International Union and its mission.


Includes SEIU staff, affiliate staff, local union officials, field staff and other coalitions


This position reports to Director of Operations and the incumbent works independently.


B.A. degree or at least 3 years of supervisory experience and 5 years of related work experience or combination of education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of labor unions and operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative operations.
  • Through knowledge of financial records.
  • Ability to develop, monitor and control budget.
  • Ability to manage, plan, develop, and lead staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and develop and maintain relationships with all levels of staff both headquarters and field.
  • Skilled in the use of personal computer including software for tracking budgets and disbursements.
  • Skilled in the use of Zoom and its back-end functions.
  • Skilled in use of Google G-Suite.
  • This position requires a high level of judgment, leadership and commitment to the goals of SEIU and its leaders.


Work is generally performed in an office setting. Long and extended hours and travel required.
