Resilience is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the healing and empowerment of sexual assault survivors through non-judgmental crisis intervention counseling, individual and group trauma therapy, and medical and legal advocacy in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. We are currently seeking a Trauma Therapist to join our team. This position is responsible for providing trauma informed individual, couples, and family therapy as well as facilitating general and specialized support groups for adult and adolescent sexual assault survivors and their significant others. The Trauma Therapist must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work with diverse populations, and a team-focused approach. In addition, experience working with marginalized communities is a plus.

This position will initially work from home and engage with clients through virtual platforms, as Resilience is working remotely during the COVID pandemic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide individual, couples, and family therapy, and support groups for adolescent and adult victims/survivors of sexual violence and their significant others. 
• Maintain a caseload of clients appropriate to level of employment and program needs.
• Assess and screen individuals to determine appropriate level of intervention and services.
• Promptly respond to requests for therapy services and maintain intake and referral records.
• Participate in regular supervision, consultation, program, and staff meetings.
• Participate in trainings as a presenter for local and statewide sexual assault coalitions, institutional partners, and other agencies, as assigned.
• Develop and maintain a network of community members and service providers.
• Identify and participate in community events, forums, and meetings as necessary to maintain the agency’s awareness of issues impacting residents and the visibility of the agency’s services.
• Collaborate with staff and interns from the Education & Training and Advocacy programs in order enhance the effectiveness of the agency’s services.
• Maintain accurate records and statistics for intake, counseling, non-client crisis intervention, information/referral, and other services/activities.
• Provide therapy services at the Central office, as well as off-site or at agencies that have agreed to provide a private space for the agency. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology required; clinical licensure (LSW/LCSW or LPC/LCPC) preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience providing counseling services required, including support groups and family counseling.
• Excellent presentation skills and experience facilitating presentations on sexual violence required.
• Previous experience working on women’s issues, addressing sexual violence/gender-based violence, and working with diverse populations including LGBTQI communities strongly preferred.
• Completion of a minimum of 40-hours of sexual assault training by an Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault member center within 60 days of hire is required; previous completion of the training strongly preferred.
• Flexibility to work some evening hours required.
