Project Invent (projectinvent.org) is a national nonprofit empowering high school students across the country to invent technologies for social impact. We train teachers in design thinking, engineering, and entrepreneurship to lead students through identifying real problems in their communities and inventing impactful solutions. At the end of the year, students pitch their inventions to investors and tech leaders at our Demo Day events. Since 2018, we've grown from one school to 50 schools across the country.
Working directly with the Executive Director, our Deputy Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities: designing and executing new initiatives, managing external communications, creating internal reports for the board, and managing our growing team. This is a generalist role for a dynamic, creative individual who is passionate about the Project Invent mission. It is perfect for a rising star who is interested in getting first-hand exposure to and building a career in social sector executive leadership. The ideal Deputy Director is excited about being part of a high-growth nonprofit and working on strategic goals to make innovative education programs accessible to all.
We prefer candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area, but are open to people in other locations if it is the right fit.
