Job Title: ​Corporate Partnerships, Senior Manager Reports to: ​Director of Development  

 Oakland Promise Oakland Promise​ is working to ensure that ​every Oakland child will graduate from high school with the expectation, skills and resources to complete college and be successful in the career of his or her choice. ​ Founded in 2016, Oakland Promise is a citywide movement with over 50 implementation partners working towards our common vision. Oakland Promise supports children and families from birth through college and career to ensure that postsecondary success is a reality for all Oaklanders. Oakland Promise includes four programs: Brilliant Baby, Kindergarten to College (K2C), College Access, and College Scholarships and Completion, that provide a cradle to career continuum of postsecondary education-focused supports for students. Our goal is to dramatically increase the number of college graduates from Oakland and ensure that all students hold a college-bound identity. We seek a hard working, highly detail-oriented individual to join our community in undertaking this important work.  

 

Job Purpose Oakland Promise seeks a detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, relationships-driven Corporate Partnerships Senior Manager with excellent organizational, communication, and systems management skills and a passion for expanding opportunities for Oakland children and families to join its growing team.  

 

The Corporate Partnerships Senior Manager will be a part of an innovative development team tasked with raising the annual budget of around $10 million as well as other ongoing fundraising campaigns. The team works across the organization to ensure that the organization is sustainable in the short- and long-term. The Senior Manager will also work closely with the CEO, Communications team, and programs to expand and deepen our corporate partnerships. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities ▪ Manage OP’s portfolio of existing and prospective corporate partners. ▪ Serve as a primary liaison to corporate partners, working with them individually to develop and build strategies to achieve shared goals. ▪ Expand current corporate engagement strategy, innovating to meet the needs of our diverse stakeholders. ▪ Build pipeline of additional corporate partners. ▪ Work in partnership with the Communications Team to highlight corporate partnerships. ▪ Explore new models for corporate engagement, developing and executing the plans and strategies. ▪ Support event planning, including the Annual Party for the Promise, Awards Ceremony and other events to highlight corporate partnerships. ▪ Support Outreach Team in recruiting 400+ mentors on an annual basis. ▪ Be a conduit between Advising, Mentor, Outreach and Development teams to build workforce development opportunities for our scholars. ▪ Assist the Director of Development, CEO, and other fundraising partners in creating and implementing overall corporate engagement strategies. ▪ Assist in the creation of print and digital marketing materials as needed. 

▪ Other duties as assigned. 

 Re​quired Qualifications ● Bachelor degree or equivalent experience ● Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in fundraising and/or communications ● Previous fundraising and/or events experience ● Exceptional organization and communications skills ● Excellent organizational skills, attention to details, and ability to manage multiple competing deadlines required ● Deep commitment to and passion for the vision of the Oakland Promise: That every child in Oakland will graduate from high school with the expectations, skills, and resources to complete college and be successful in a career of his or her choice. ● Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint ● Proficient with Salesforce Databases ● Proficient with Google Suite tools ● Strong self-motivation and ability to operate effectively with limited direct management ● Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations ● Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse groups 

 

Preferred Qualifications ● Experience in the field of education ● Knowledge of and connections to Oakland communities ● Experience leading corporate engagement strategies ● Experience building a program or organization from scratch
