This colleague will be the lead staff member for communications related to Cummings Foundation’s grant programs and New Horizons senior living communities. S/he will also work alongside another grants manager to play a significant role in the selection process of, and subsequent relationship-building with, grantees of Cummings Foundation’s $25 Million Grant Program. As an employee of Cummings Properties, this colleague may play a role in some initiatives unrelated to philanthropy.


Typical responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing volunteer reports while keeping an eye out for potential synergies, and then facilitating collaborations
  • Planning and executing committee meetings, grant program celebrations, and networking and learning events
  • Using, and training volunteers to use, Google Docs and Foundant, an online grants management system
  • Serving as a liaison to, and communicating extensively with, nonprofits and Foundation volunteers
  • Drafting or editing newsletters, media releases, and volunteer instructional guides
  • Managing social media accounts


  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Top-notch organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of professionalism
  • An enthusiasm to roll up their sleeves and tackle the day-to-day tasks necessary to produce excellent programs


  • Residency in the greater Woburn area
  • At least five years of professional experience
  • The ability to work on site, M – F 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn software programs
