The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill a junior consultancy position of Social Media Community Manager, based at our Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Under the general supervision and guidance of the Social Media Coordinator, the Social Media Community Manager will be responsible for the following key duties:
Social Media Content Creation
Write, edit, and produce Social Media content for the global social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and Instagram, positioning content for clarity and impact;
Collaborate with cross-functional team members on Social Media content ideas with the aim of creating dynamic, impactful and differentiated content;
Keep the Social Media editorial calendar up-to-date with the global accounts’ content.
Social Media Campaigns - Analytics, Data Analysis, and Reporting
Plan, execute, manage, and optimize paid social media campaigns (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn promotions);
Handle all aspects of campaign management from account set up, audience development, budget management to campaign wrap up reports that deliver actionable insights;
Conduct analytical assessments of campaign performance;
Define tracking, tagging and measurement requirements of campaigns & tests.
Respond and engage with followers. Escalate issues in a timely fashion;
Monitor the WFP brand and relevant news;
Analyse social media posts and campaigns.
Social Media Crisis Management
Work closely with the global media team and regional offices to ensure crises are properly managed and contained.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
A Bachelor or Master’s degree in a Communications, International Relations, Journalism, Public Relations or other related fields.
At least 2 years of postgraduate professional experience in Social Media, Communications or related area.
Excellent working knowledge of major social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter;
Excellent working knowledge of social media metrics and analytics tools;
Hands-on knowledge of live event content curation and multimedia content creation;
Proven track record of social media channel messaging;
Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills;
Innovative, well organized and detail oriented; and
Ability to work in a team and to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and oral knowledge of English.
Eligible for Occasional telecommuting as defined in the WFP Human Resources Manual Chapter V Section 7.8.
Terms and Conditions
WFP offers a competitive compensation package which will be determined by the contract type and selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
