The Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (OMCC) is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, self-starter to join our team as Office Manager/Executive Assistant. This is a full-time (M-F, 9:00AM – 5:30PM) opportunity located in our Downtown Oakland office.

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Office Manager is central to the smooth day-to-day operations of OMCC. This position involves administrative and executive support, client and customer service, facilities management, event planning and support, and various clerical duties.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide administrative, program, and event planning support to President and other department managers
  • Maintain office including supplies inventory, common areas, equipment, and liaise with appropriate vendors and building management as needed
  • Assist members, visitors and staff with general questions and event registration
  • Receive and direct incoming calls to appropriate personnel and voicemail
  • Greet and announce clients, members and visitors
  • Design promotional flyers and create presentations
  • Receive and distribute mail
  • Printing, copying and scanning, and other clerical duties and other requests as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • High school diploma required; some college preferred
  • 2+ years in an administrative, executive, or office management role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Experience utilizing a multi-line phone system and working knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e. fax, copier, printers, etc.) required
  • Experience designing collateral and presentations
  • Ability to type 50 WPM
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and effective verbal (by phone and in person) and written communication
  • Punctuality and professionalism
