Administrative duties, including:

  • Report to Board Chair and Board Treasurer and assist them as needed with tasks involving the day-to-day and long-term management of the organization
  •  Manage bank accounts, benefits, bill payments, and other financial matters for the organization
  • Maintain organization assets, including website, general organization email and office space, serving as public face for organization and its interests
  • Schedule, arrange space for, compile materials for and assist board of directors with board meetings, fundraising meetings, and other calendar events as needed
  •  Record minutes for board meetings and other key meetings and maintain records on meetings
  •  Assist primary accountant and accounting firm with book-keeping and record-keeping as needed
  • Create budget and cash flow documents as needed for organization
  •  Help on-board and interface with Communications Fellow placed within the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) and assist Fellow as needed
  •  Interface with Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) staff

Fundraising and development assistance, including:

  • Compile and create fundraising materials
  • Create and manage correspondence on behalf of the organization with donors, potential donors, foundation prospects, and others as requested by the organization
  • Assist development consultant and (when hired) Development Director with fundraising tasks, including donor recruitment strategies and completion of paperwork such as IRS filings and grant agreements on behalf of organization
  •  Maintain records of donations and grants
  • Assist board of directors with ongoing outreach strategy and fundraising tasks as needed


  •  Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
  •  Prior experience in office management or administration highly preferred, or demonstrated proficiency in an office environment completing administrative tasks
  •  Must be able to work independently on multiple tasks with short deadlines, while also being responsive to supervisors’ needs and ongoing assignments
  • Must be a quick thinker able to easily complete tasks and anticipate future needs
  • Prior experience with bookkeeping, financial management, and budgets preferred
  • Prior experience with fundraising or development preferred
