Originally founded in 1991 as Harlem RBI, DREAM has grown to annually serve more than 2,500 youth across East Harlem and the South Bronx through a network of six PreK-12, extended-day, extended-year DREAM Charter Schools and community sports-based youth development programs. Through our commitment to rigorous academics, social-emotional learning, deep family and community engagement, and health and wellness, we create lifelong learners who are equipped to fulfill their vision of success in and out of the classroom. We dream big, as well, with an aggressive five-year plan to expand to serve 3,500 students across seven schools—growing our organization's impact and leveling the playing field for all children. DREAM is seeking Head + Assistant Coaches for our 14U baseball and softball teams. Reporting to the Baseball and Softball Program Manager, the coaches will be responsible for working with high school students in practices and tournaments for our 14U teams. Coaches will have a direct and meaningful impact on the positive development of the youth they coach. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with prior baseball and/or softball coaching and playing experience at a high level. Candidates must be an effective communicator and be able to motivate youth!
Days + hours are tentative and subject to change.
June/early JulyEnd date: late summer/early fall1-2 weeknight practices: Practices on weeknights typically last 3 hours;
Games on weekends last between 2-12 hours;
Compensation is based on experience and role:Head Coach starts at $40/hr. Assistant Coach starts at $25/hour.
