Position Overview:

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be integral in helping Mi with the development, management, and day-to-day operations of Mass Insight’s marketing and communications initiatives. The Manager will help Mass Insight bring our brand, services, and impact to life in a way that engages and resonates with our intended audiences. This position reports to the COO/CFO and provides great exposure to all aspects of the Organization – program & strategy, policy & advocacy, the office of the CEO, development, and research & impact. Mass Insight is embarking on a new 2-year strategic plan and one of the strategies is “Getting Famous”. The Marketing and Communications Manager is key to meeting the goals of the Getting Famous strategy!

A new Marketing and Communications Manager on the Mi team will be executing on the responsibilities listed below:

  • Plan, manage and spearhead the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including branding, inbound marketing, media relations, social media and paid advertising strategy
  • Collaborate with internal program leaders to develop a marketing funnel that integrates fundraising and business development goals
  • Mobilize internal and external resources to develop content aligned with brand strategy and messaging
  • Provide creative and promotional direction on the execution of events, such as in-person panels, virtual panels, Annual Partners in Excellence teacher recognition, awareness events, etc.  
  • Analyze and regularly report marketing campaign data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future content strategies
  • Oversee contracts with external vendors, including marketing agencies, videographers, and printers
  • Supervise the Marketing & Communications Specialist in the development of content, social media, and marketing collateral


  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing and/or communications (Masters degree in related area can be substituted for 1+ years of experience)
  • At least 2 years of branding experience
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, present, and implement marketing programs
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics and office productivity tools (e.g. MS Office, WordPress, Google Analytics, and Salesforce)
  • Exceptional communication and copywriting skills
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Results-driven


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English or related field
  • Experience supervising staff
  • Marketing agency experience
  • Experience in K-12 school turnaround and education reform
  • Interest in mission driven non-profit
  • Proficient at Adobe InDesign

Compensation and Benefits

●     A salary of $65,000-90,000 annually commensurate with experience
