The HR Coordinator will serve the administrative and strategic needs of the HR Department. This position assists the HR Director and HR Associate Directors with the preparation of confidential reports, organization initiatives, employee programs, and communications. S/he will be responsible for providing departmental support in recruiting, onboarding, talent management, attendance, and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities include:

  • Post job announcements internally and list available opportunities externally on appropriate job sites
  • Post job opportunities on the AJC website, and remove job opportunities from the site when they are filled
  • Manage the Leadership page on the AJC website, update the webpage with biographies and headshots of new Senior Managers and Content Experts
  • Assist with the recruitment process
  • Calculate hours and overtime and prepare reports on a bi-weekly basis
  • Ensure time sheets by support staff and professional non-exempt staff are submitted in a timely manner
  • Manage vacation requests for support staff. 
  • Keep track of support vacation and sick accruals
  • Help gather feedback on new organizational initiatives and present findings to the department
  • Help manage the online time and attendance system
  • Assist the HR Director, HR Associate Directors, and Associate with daily responsibilities
  • Send out probationary evaluations and follow-up with managers to ensure forms are returned in a timely manner
  • Maintain staff address, email and phone list
  • Order staff gifts
  • Reconcile monthly AMEX statements
  • Assist with all general correspondence
  • Perform general administrative work
  • Work on projects as assigned
  • Handle other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
  • Dependable
  • Working knowledge and prior experience of HRIS and Time and Attendance systems (ADP & Replicon) is a plus
  • Strong figures aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • A self-starter, willing to take the initiative
  • A team player as well as able to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Respect for and adherence to confidentiality is required
  • Excellent organizational skills including accuracy and attention to detail
  • A demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards and values
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required
