The Dental Assistant assists the general dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including, but not limited to, taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays), asking about the patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse, helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment, and teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling). Performs office management tasks that often require the use of CHCR’s practice management and electronic dental and medical records system.
Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Dental Assisting Certificate and Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Certificate from an accredited school. CPR certification preferred; prior computer experience, electronic dental health records system experience preferred. Incumbent must obtain certification within one year of date of hire. Competent infection control skills and knowledge. Experience Excellent communication skills. Bilingual helpful.
