Position

NCYL seeks a Human Resources Specialist to lead the recruiting, hiring and exiting processes for employees and volunteers. This person will also design, develop and implement effective employee training. Fluency in traditional and nontraditional recruiting and access to established networks to identify and attract talent are key components of this role. This person will also have strong interpersonal instincts and know how to collect and use employee data to inform their work. This is a great opportunity for someone who truly centers employees in their HR practice. 

The Human Resources Specialist will report to the Human Resources Partner. 

Essential Functions

  •  Recruit full-time, part-time, temporary, contractual and intern personnel. Manage full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.).
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  •  Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  •  Manage and coordinate all onboarding and offboarding processes.
  •  Develop, implement and manage a volunteer program for the organization.
  •  Identify and monitor training needs in the organization. Then design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs.
  •  Provide oversight, coordination and administration of organizational leave programs and the return-to-work process for employees.
  •  Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  •  Help with other Operation’s Team projects or other projects as assigned by the HR Partner.


Required Qualifications

  •  Minimum of 5 years direct service in Human Resources including recruiting and training.

 

Other Qualifications

  • 3 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  •  Ability to use a racial justice lens.
  •  Outstanding interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
  •  Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  •  Ability to foster a strong culture of customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and time management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to research, compose and present comprehensive reports.
  •  Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles with a thorough understanding of recruiting methods, best practices and federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Ability to plan, organize and present training activities to diverse employee groups.
  • Strong facilitation skills that foster inclusion and produce positive outcomes.
  •  Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, Zoom and other technologies.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential preferred.

$94,194 - $94,194This is a full-time, exempt, position with a competitive salary of $94,194.00 annually.
