Department Overview:

This Healthcare Partnership (HCP) team mission is to develop direct relationships with Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Healthcare Industries. As part of a team a high performing of subject matter experts, each member is accountable for leveraging knowledge in the role fundraising, sales, and marketing play in driving growth while maintaining an understanding of the scientific drug develop process and pipelines. Each member of the HCP team will have ultimate accountability aligning internally and externally to build strategic large-scale programs and multi-million-dollar partnerships.


Position Description:

The Account Manager, Healthcare Partnerships will be accountable for stewarding relationships with numerous accounts within one or two designated healthcare verticals. This individual will develop a deep understanding of the needs of their industry partners and will provide consultative sales services to ensure that their partners understand how MDA’s programs – education, engagement, communications, and insights – align their own strategic objectives.

The Account Manager, Healthcare Partnerships will be charged with achieving a revenue goal to support the MDA mission. This individual will be accountable for pitching programs, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing business. The Account Manager, Healthcare Partnerships reports directly to the Senior Director, Healthcare Partnerships.


What you’ll do:

  • Highlight the value that MDA offers industry partners and elevate the visibility of the brand by differentiating MDA from other associations in neuromuscular disease.
  • Build deep, trusting relationships with assigned industry partners and serve as their point of contact with MDA. 
  • Listen carefully to partners’ needs and take a solutions-based approach. 
  • Set expectations for regular and relevant communications, and always prepare for meetings with agenda, objectives, and materials.
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve revenue targets on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. 
  • Work closely with assigned accounts to ensure they consider all relevant programs for assistance.
  • Update Salesforce real time with all relevant information about account engagement and pipeline development and use as a tool to track, inform, manage, and follow up on business.
  • Develop a system to maintain flow of communications, presentation of opportunities, and timely follow up with partners.
  • Contribute to positive team dynamic and MDA mission by dividing learnings, maintaining a positive can-do attitude, and supporting teammates as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry news, changes, and opportunities to best meet the needs of our partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Salary Range:

This position's salary range is $60,000 - $67,000. Final offer amounts and levels are determined by multiple factors, including your experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.


What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated successful business development and account management experience required.
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of the biopharma industry and drug development
  • Experience with solutions selling and consultative sales approaches
  • Significant planning experience and ability to conceive, design, implement, evaluate, and manage account programs and strategies
  • Exceptional passionate intelligence as demonstrated by previous successful relationship development and management
  • Strong written, oral, and interactive communications skills and political acumen to establish and maintain good working relationships within all organizational levels and with outside constituencies.
  • Strong skills to meet predetermined goals and objectives.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation and marketing skills.
