Senior Individual Giving Officer

The Museum of Jewish Heritage seeks a driven development professional to advance the Museums’ philanthropic goals by creating and implementing effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and events for donors and prospects in the $1,000-$10,000 range for affinity groups including the Patron Circle ($1,000+) and Young Friends (ages 21- 39). The Senior Individual Giving Officer will also maximize giving across the institution through creation and timely dissemination of the annual Museum Fund appeal and other targeted campaigns.


Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee a portfolio of 100 to 150 individual donors and prospects providing the logistical and creative support to meet fundraising goals and build long-term relationships;

• Manage timely, personalized and effective acquisition, renewal and appeal cycles for the Young Friends and Patron Circle groups;

• Provide donor stewardship and donor events, tours, and programs at the Museum and related sites;

• Create, implement, and manage appeals related to the Patron Circle, Young Friends, and other affinity groups;

• Work in partnership with the Events team to plan and present engaging, tailored and high-quality donor experiences and fundraising events related to the affinity groups;

• Ensure donor database records are up-to-date and solicitation lists are coordinated across the Development department; 

• Supervise department assistants and interns as needed; and

• Assist the Director of Major Gifts and Chief Development Officer with ancillary duties such as budget preparation, production of collateral materials, board reporting, project management, and other tasks as assigned.


Requirements:

• At least four years of experience in individual fundraising in the non-profit field, preferably in a cultural institution and/or Jewish philanthropy;

• Proven ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts ($1,000+) from individuals;

• Ability to ground relationships with donors and prospective donors in Jewish culture and values;

• Superior written and oral communication skills, ability to write and speak in clear, crisp and compelling ways and to articulate the goals, mission and values of the Museum;

• Intellectual depth, maturity and interpersonal skills to foster the trust and confidence of Museum leadership and donors;

• Must adhere to the highest ethical standards; demonstrate an empathetic disposition, exhibit perseverance, and project an optimistic and positive attitude;

• Willingness to work weekends and evenings as necessary;

• Working knowledge of philanthropic vehicles and proficiency in Altru or Raiser’s Edge or other development technology for prospect identification and research;

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. 


Position Details

• Reports to Director of Major Gifts

• Supervises department assistants and interns as needed

• Salary Range $65,000-$75,000 with a generous benefits package

• Full-Time, 40 hours a week with hybrid schedule available after 90 days
