The PCLB Foundation – a private family foundation based in New York City – is committed to “giving motivated people the tools they need to help themselves.” Over time, the best tool the Foundation has found is access to a high-quality education. Education is, therefore, PCLB’s largest grant portfolio with a goal to give all children the opportunities afforded by a high-quality, K-12 public education – one that prepares them to succeed in college and in life.

The Program Associate will support PCLB’s program team in the Foundation’s grant-making, with a focus on PCLB’s Education portfolio and on all grant-related data. More specifically, the Program Associate will be responsible for the following:

·       Support Program staff in developing grant-making strategies and building strong relationships with grantees, especially within PCLB’s Education portfolio. This includes significant research work, along with support in grantee meetings and communications.

·       Support Program staff in the grant-making process, including review of reports/proposals, conducting site visits, and preparing materials in two annual grant cycles.

·       Manage implementation of several “cohort grants” which span multiple organizations and entails workshop planning and coordination.

·       Review, analyze and manage grantee data, including PCLB’s grantee performance measurements and education database.

·       Perform other responsibilities (such as grants tracking, financial reports, surveys, presentations, other special events/projects, etc.) related to PCLB’s grant-making.

·       Assist with preparation and execution of two annual Board meetings.

·       Respond to unsolicited contacts, explaining eligibility guidelines to these organizations, assessing the value of further conversations.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree required. 1-3 years of experience preferred.

·       Demonstrated computer skills (especially Microsoft office) required. Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI or Tableau a plus.

·       Experience with data and data analysis preferred.

·       Some exposure to/understanding of philanthropy preferred.

·       Commitment to high quality work.

·       Commitment to areas in which PCLB funds.

·       Detail-oriented and efficient problem solver.

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Ability to work independently. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
