Description

• Responds to email & phone call inquiries and follow up with donors, volunteers & clients as necessary.

• Continues to refine systems for tracking inventory of incoming donations and outgoing distributions and

maintain inventory of items in storage and items needed.

• Helps maintain and update the volunteer/donor database.

• Manages /updates Amazon gift registry lists, and make purchases as needed on behalf of clients.

• Champions volunteerism and track and acknowledge in-kind donations, generating donor and volunteer

reports for management.

• Keeps receipts organized and coordinate payment of contractors and vendors with the finance team.

• Responds to house goods and food requests from staff or clients.

Co-Sponsorship Program Coordination

• Remains current in knowledge of refugee resettlement process and related topics.

• Develops and host virtual and in-person information sessions on volunteer opportunities, and support

volunteers as they complete the JFCS volunteer onboarding process.

• Conducts volunteer training, supervise volunteers, and serve as liaison between volunteers and

program staff.

• Champions co-sponsorship and other refugee program volunteer opportunities and track and

acknowledge in-kind donations, generating donor and volunteer reports for management.

• Refines and designs new refugee program volunteer opportunities based on program and client need.

• Works in tandem with the Director of Refugee Resettlement to design, create Co-Sponsorship Program

Manual and other policy and guidelines.

• Represents JFCS at relevant community events.

Skills/Abilities That are a Must-Haves:

• At least 2 years of experience as a volunteer coordinator, community organizer, canvasser, project

coordinator or similar role.

• Minimum bachelor's degree.

• Excellent computer skills, including competence with Outlook and the Microsoft 365 Suite.

• Excellent project management and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set

priorities and effectively manage time, and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail

• Fluency in written and spoken English. Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to maintain effective relationships with colleagues and external partners including those with

challenging personalities.

• Communicates in an open and respectful manner.

• Works collaboratively and includes all stakeholders in program planning and problem solving.

• Prefers collaborative work style and freely shares information, ideas, and connections.

• Responds openly to feedback and suggestions.

• Legal authority to work in the United States.

• Valid California Driver's license and a reliable vehicle with registration and insurance

• Ability to occasionally work early mornings, weekends, or evening hours.

• Ability to work with people from diverse cultures in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.

Bonus but not Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience working with the Jewish Community. Existing relationships within the Orange County

Jewish organizations and/or congregations a plus.

• Knowledge of or experience working with refugee and immigrant communities is preferred.

• Knowledge of nonprofit environment and/or social service resources in Orange County a plus.

• Experience with eblast or donor platforms like MailChimp, CRMs like Bloomerang and Monday.com a

plus, and ability to use (or learn how to use) Canva or InDesign.

• Experience with fundraising or volunteer databases a plus.

• Ability to speak Russian, Ukrainian, Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Spanish or Arabic, a plus.
