Older Adults Technology Services (OATS), is a rapidly expanding social impact organization that empowers older adults by harnessing technology to change the way we age. OATS seeks a dynamic and passionate Program Coordinator to support the delivery of Senior Planet Montgomery programming and award-winning curriculum for Montgomery County, Maryland. Senior Planet’s online and in person programs engage members with digital culture and new technologies.


The Program Coordinator will be responsible for:


  • Interacting with individual members to learn about their programmatic interest areas
  • Coordinating trainer availability and expertise;
  • And scheduling and disseminating the programs for Senior Planet Montgomery


This position will also help the Regional Director with managing the Senior Planet Montgomery budget, financial projections and analysis, and record-keeping on internal and external systems.  

Successful candidates should possess proficiency in common software applications and devices, but even more important is a passion for connecting with older adults and the ability to effectively communicate the relevancy of technology to their lives.

Responsibilities of Program Coordinator

  • Program planning for the current program quarter, and long range planning and dissemination 
  • Coordinate scheduling of trainer availability and assign trainers to appropriate programs
  • Teach technology courses, workshops, and lectures as needed using materials provided by OATS 
  • Tracking partnership development and key program metrics in Salesforce database
  • Maintaining the website in WordPress
  • Assist the Regional Director with publicizing the activities of Senior Planet Montgomery in the local community
  • Other duties as assigned by Regional Director

Additional responsibilities of Program Coordinator for in-person program delivery

  • Coordinate Senior Planet course registration, visits, training sessions, and special events with Senior Planet Montgomery’s partner site network
  • Coordinate the delivery of program equipment and supplies to trainers and partner sites.
  • Ensure partner sites operate effectively and provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment for seniors
  • Performing outreach to raise awareness of OATS’s programming and develop new partnership opportunities. 
  • Assist Regional Director to identify opportunities in the community to develop new partnerships
  • Able to travel between partner locations in Montgomery County, including access to a vehicle

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in program delivery and/or program operations short and long-range
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in data and/or financial analysis
  • Superior time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior research and analytical skills
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills especially to communicate technical information
  • Competence with Windows computers, iOS, popular social media sites, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Google Suite 
  • Competence with Salesforce or other Client Relationship Management systems (CRM), WordPress, and Mailchimp 
  • Experience in community outreach and grassroots organizing
  • Fluency in other languages, especially Spanish, is a plus
  • Residing in Montgomery County is a plus
