Position Description: Bookkeeper

Mercy Learning Center is seeking an experienced part-time accountant with 10 years’ experience to manage full accounting of a non-profit 501(c)(3). The candidate should have experience in accounting for a small business. Prior administrative experience is required. Reports directly to Director of Operations and CEO.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payables
  • Reconcile payroll taxes, bank checking accounts, investment accounts and petty cash at the end of each month
  • Cash and other Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Assist and maintain complete and accurate financial records
  • Records and codes incoming checks and donations
  • Prepares weekly and monthly analysis reports for Director of Operations and CEO
  • Prepare, review and analyze financial statements
  • Makes weekly deposits to bank
  • Paper and Electronic file management for Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
  • Responsible for preparation of fiscal audit
  • Understands and follows work rules and procedures
  • Upholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
  • Attends company meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full cycle accounting experience
  • Degree in business accounting
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able work independently
  • Strong ability to prioritize work assignments, critical tasks and routine work.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks & MS Office
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Experience in a non-profit environment

Schedule

4 hours a week on site
