The Senior Manager of Community Engagement is responsible for engaging community stakeholders to build support for HOPE’s programs, policy agenda and mission. Builds strong ties with HOPE’s sponsors, community leaders, elected officials and HOPE alumnae. Supports the promotion of HOPE’s reports, special initiatives and recruitment for all HOPE’s programs, events and conferences. Reports to the Community Engagement Director, collaborates with HOPE team members to ensure HOPE’s goals are met including fundraising.  Partners with the senior team in the development, implementation and evaluation of regional programs and policy outreach, mobilizing a statewide network of Latina leaders. This position is based in Fresno, but has responsibilities across California.

Leads the implementation of HOPE’s local government and regional community leaders’ outreach and relationship building strategy. Mobilizes HOPE’s base and community leaders in support of HOPE’s policy agenda. Helps promote and distribute HOPE’s reports, including organizing regional briefings and roundtables. Recruits affiliates statewide and creates a statewide strategy to expand HOPE’s impact.

Promotes and implements regional programs and special initiatives (local commission recruitment, Latina Empowerment Day Programs).    Establishes a Central Valley recruitment strategy and Latina Leadership pipeline for HOPE’s leadership programs and participates in local efforts aligned with HOPE’s policy agenda in a nonpartisan manner.

Provides support to Friends of HOPE (membership, individual donors) campaign and develops sponsor relationships on behalf of HOPE’s programming.

Duties and Task

Community Stakeholders Outreach and mobilization:       

Arranges for regional briefings and leadership roundtables.   

Develops relationships with local elected officials, community leaders and local business leaders.

Meets with and organizes HLI alumnae outreach with the goals to mobilizing around HOPE’s policy agenda and programs.

Supports all of HOPE’s initiatives, fundraising, programs and policy agenda by gaining community support.    

Attends key community meetings as a HOPE representative

Programs and Conferences:

   Provide strategic direction to Senior management and conference committees regarding conference program, flow, and speakers

     Supports Latina History Day and Latina Empowerment Days

     Manages Community engagement team’s work plans and budgets to ensure all the logistics for training sessions and programs meet HOPE’s standards and goals.

Public Relations:

   Arrange and lead briefings highlighting HOPE’s reports and policy agenda     

Attends pre-approved events as HOPE’s representative; has good judgment to communicate with Director on community issues and opportunities

Administrative:

Support fundraising efforts and tracking of work plans / creates appreciation and follow-up plan for key stakeholders

   Help recruit Interns and supervise

Technical Skills:

Software: Microsoft Office Suite - with strong emphasize on excel. Possesses basic business skills including knowledge of contracts, accounting, and demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors. Knowledge of salesforce, asana, and other time and database. Has worked with Eventbrite, Zoom and other event management tools is a plus.

It is important to note this position reports to the Community Engagement Director and is part of a team of 3 working on HOPE's community building goals. They will be working from home but expected to travel to HOPE's headquarters up to once a month and travel across the state. Travel is a big part of the job.

Salary

USD 65,000 - USD 80,000Salary will be based on years of experience
