WPA empowers women to redefine their lives in the face of injustice and incarceration. Together, we forge pathways towards freedom, safety, and independence.

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Coordinator to work in our Residential Services Unit at Hopper Home. The Clinical Coordinator will enhance the capacity of Hopper Home (DHS-funded shelter for 38 single homeless women) to address common, prevalent behavioral health issues that challenge residents’ stability and ability to engage in onsite and offsite programming intended to help residents reach their educational, vocational and housing goals. This position will also entail conducting biopsychosocial assessments of all incoming residents and collaborating with case management staff to incorporate behavioral health needs into case plans. The Clinical Coordinator will provide individual counseling to clients with behavioral health needs, and provide clinical supervision to case management staff. This position will also include facilitating case conferences around clinical issues; identifying licensed treatment providers; and monitoring resident engagement in care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 Conduct biopsychosocial assessment with all incoming residents.

 Conduct additional mental health screenings of residents as appropriate.

 Assist case managers to develop case plans that are informed by Clinical Coordinator’s assessments and which address client’s behavioral health needs.

 Provide individual counseling to clients with behavioral health needs, evaluating treatment readiness and providing counseling to motivate clients to engage in and remain in mental health treatment.

 Partner with residents to identify appropriate outside mental health treatment services, and provide ongoing follow-up with the resident and mental health provider to support ongoing connection to care.

 Collaborate with case managers to develop, implement, and monitor case plans.

 Provide clinical supervision to case managers through participation in case conferences and coaching to support client engagement.

 Create and maintain strong referral arrangements with an array of licensed mental health treatment providers that offer a range of treatment modalities and that accept a range of payer plans.

 Participate in recruiting, hiring, training and evaluation of staff.

 Maintain and oversee documentation of client progress in accordance with NYC DHS and WPA standards.

 As needed, recommend quality and/or performance improvement initiatives in order to more effectively and efficiently perform the functions of the job.

 Perform any other department or agency related duties or special projects as directed by supervisor.

 Participation in all external and internal staff trainings.

Qualifications:

 Master’s Degree in a clinical service field required (Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, Family & Marriage Counseling) along with New York State licensure relevant to degree (LCSW, if Social Work).

 At least four years of post-graduate experience delivering clinical services to women who are homeless or who share similar characteristics, including mental illness and substance abuse.

 Minimum three years of supervisory experience required.

 Experience delivering clinical services to women who have had criminal justice involvement.

 Experience administering, scoring, and interpreting validated mental health screening instruments.

 Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, managerial, and supervisory/leadership skills.

 Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
