    Position Overview:

    Chicago HOPES for Kids is seeking a strategic, results-driven Development Manager to lead our efforts in expanding awareness, raising funds, and fostering sustainable growth for the organization. This key leadership role will drive the development and execution of communication strategies, fundraising campaigns, and corporate partnerships to support our mission. The Development Manager will play a critical role in shaping organizational goals and will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Associate Board, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with Chicago HOPES for Kids’ vision and mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Leadership: Serve as a vital member of the leadership team, collaborating on the development of organizational strategies, long-term goals, and impact-driven initiatives.
    • Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Design and implement multifaceted fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, donor and strategic partner driven events to achieve revenue goals.
    • Corporate Partnerships & Stewardship: Cultivate and manage relationships with foundation and corporate partners, ensuring mutual benefit and alignment with organizational priorities. Drive growth in partnerships to diversify revenue streams.
    • Brand Development & Communications: Lead the development of Chicago HOPES for Kids branded materials, including digital and print collateral, annual report, and social media content, ensuring consistency in messaging and positioning.
    • Event Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and execute key fundraising events and donor appreciation initiatives, ensuring a high level of engagement and stewardship.
    • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise Development VISTA(s), providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
    • Donor Relations: Oversee donor database management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of donations. Develop tailored communications to engage and recognize donors, ensuring ongoing relationship cultivation.
    • Program Engagement: Regularly visit shelter locations to stay connected with the impact of the program and integrate insights into development strategies.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
    • Proven experience in executing successful fundraising campaigns.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in developing marketing materials and executing social media strategies.
    • Familiarity with donor management databases and fundraising software.
    • Proficiency with Google Drive and other collaborative tools
    • Experience in nonprofit development.
    • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Work environment

    • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
    • Transportation to the office and for site visits is necessary.
    • Hybrid role: work in office 3 days/week, remote home office 2 days/week.
