For Our Future Florida seeks a motivated, outgoing, and results-driven Community Outreach Organizer for a public health and education program in the Pompano Beach region. You will be responsible for execution of the community outreach program for your region and engage and interface with community members through door-to-door canvassing and community events, within accordance of strict health and safety protocols. For Our Future Florida is a statewide, coalition organization that builds progressive power through community engagement and organizing around key issues. We uplift the voices of the community to strengthen public education, advance social and racial justice, preserve our environment, and fight for working families. Candidates should have familiarity with Broward county Florida, specifically the Pompano Beach region, experience working with door-to-door organizing programs, comfort working long hours, and access to reliable transportation.



●          Will serve on the front lines of an outreach program providing messaging and resources on vaccines and public health issues to the community, including regular door-to-door canvassing.

●          Organizing community events, building relationships within the region, and engaging in community outreach work through canvassing and phone calls.

●          Building and managing community outreach events in accordance with FOF health and safety guidelines. 

●          Ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met and exceeded.

●          Report daily on quantitative and qualitative metrics, ensuring timely and accurate data entry and reporting.

●          Work with program leadership to plan and help implement new outreach strategies in your region.

●          Attend scheduled calls and meetings.

●          Attend training on community outreach tactics, program strategy, and safety.

●          Adhere to all health and safety protocols and procedures.



●          High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 

●          Previous organizing experience preferred, as a volunteer or staff member.

●          Full vaccination required for this position. Individuals may request accommodation if they are unable to be fully vaccinated for either medical or religious reasons.

●          Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN or a willingness to learn is preferred.

●          Basic computer literacy and access to a reliable portable computer. Strong knowledge of Google Suites is a plus.

●          Must have reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

●          Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment.

●          Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.

●          Ability to work independently and in team settings.

●          Commitment to the Mission - Dedication to grassroots, local organizing and empowering state/local organizations to lead our work. Understanding of local community-based organizations and respect for their leaders and programs.

●          Strong interpersonal communications skills.

●          Possess a winning mentality.

●          Bilingual skills are strongly preferred.



■     Door-to-door canvassing is an essential function of this job. Employees may be required to work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold. This position is expected to interact regularly face-to-face with community members, volunteers, and community partners.

■     Employees will be provided with health and safety training, and personal protective equipment (PPE).



■     Employees may be required to work outside of normal business hours including weekends, holidays, and nights.

■     Employees may be required to abide by certain blackout dates during the year, and generally not allowed to take more than 2-3 days off consecutively during blackout periods. Emergencies will not be affected by this policy.
