Do you want to help connect diverse, community-led nonprofits around the world to advance their important work? Are you passionate about enhancing learning experiences that facilitate individual and collective growth? Do you want to collaborate with a group of colleagues who are committed to excellent work – and having fun while doing so? If so, we want to hear from you!

GlobalGiving is looking for a Community Experience Designer to join our team.

You’ll be part of a new team focused on blending and enhancing our community building and learning programming for nonprofit partners. You will help oversee and guide the facilitation practices and learning models we use to strengthen our nonprofits’ capability to attract and absorb more funding. At the end of the day, your contributions will add up to a more connected and inspired philanthropic sector.

From coaching trainers on staff to designing distributed learning models, the Community Experience Designer takes a lead role in overseeing the implementation of our organization-wide learning strategy. If figuring out how to unlock the wisdom of nonprofits partners around the world gives you energy, we can’t wait to hear from you!

We have a casual work atmosphere where everyone’s input and ideas are valued. We’re committed to work-life balance and offer everyone opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow. Since creative, enthusiastic employees are our most valued resource and the basis for our success, we take great care in how we attract, hire, and support our employees for a successful career. If you care about collaboration, curiosity, communication excellence, and continuous improvement, this position is right for you.

  • Guide Innovation: Determine what’s needed from a user experience perspective to execute our learning strategy well and build community.
  • Programming: Design and manage global nonprofit programming, support regional counterparts in local program delivery, and oversee communications as they relate to learning and training programs.
  • Cultivate community: Ensure training and learning opportunities honor relationship building and cultivate community along the nonprofit partner’s journey. Create and manage opportunities for nonprofit partners to connect, learn, and enrich their work.
  • Analyze data and respond to feedback: Continually seek to understand and improve the individual nonprofit’s learning journey and ensure our programming serves our nonprofit partners, especially those facing the toughest barriers to belonging and learning.
  • Participate in cross-team coordination, experimentation, and innovation efforts.

  • Excellent communication skills to remotely coordinate with global team members and nonprofits across different cultures and time zones;
  • Initiative, enthusiasm, and a problem-solving approach to new challenges;
  • Demonstrated comfort using quantitative and qualitative data to understand a problem, enrich a solution, and/or tell a story;
  • Comfort with technology as a power user and as a contributor to improvements in design and usability of web-based user interfaces;
  • Excellent organizational skills, creativity, and flexibility; ability to multi-task under a deadline, with great productivity and attention to detail;
