An Excellent Opportunity

Girl Scout Cookies! Grab a box of your favorite flavor and join us as a Program Marketing Specialist, helping us inspire and educate Girl Scout parents and volunteers on the Product Programs! The right candidate will successfully promote participation in the Cookie Sale and Fall Product Sale to the Girl Scout community.

Wait – Fall Product? What is that, you ask. September through November, Girl Scouts in the greater Washington, DC region use their business skills to sell delicious candies and nuts and magazine subscriptions to friends and family while earning money for their troops’ activities.


Here’s What You Will Be Doing

  • Participate in a team effort for planning, organizing, and implementing Cookie and Fall Product Sales
  • Design print materials, including training manuals, for volunteers
  • Develop quick, how-to training videos to make digital resources easy for parents and volunteers to use
  • Plan fun “Top Seller” events for the elite group of girls selling the most Cookies in our region
  • Host large- and small-scale training events for volunteers, in-person and on Zoom
  • Maintain strong relationship with volunteers through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings
  • Use vendor software for volunteer communications and reports
  • Assist with finding and advertising cookie booth locations
  • Partner with Marketing and Communication department on Product Program webpage updates


Is this you?

  • Strong analytical skills and business sense
  • Passionate about girl entrepreneurship
  • Self-motivated and efficient with strong time-management skills
  • Great written and oral communication skills, including public and video-conference presentations
  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Publisher
  • Good sense and skill in graphic design
  • Strong event planning skills
  • Aptitude to learn vendor-provided sales management tools
  • Provide excellent customer service to diverse groups of people
  • Team-player who is ready to collaborate with staff and volunteers
  • Girl Scout experience, especially with Cookie or Fall Product Programs, is very helpful (but not critical)

• 3 health insurance options (The Council pays the full monthly premium for individual coverage in the HMO or HMO/HSA and contributes $65.80 per pay period to the HSA for employees on that plan.)
