All Our Kin, Inc., a nationally-recognized, Connecticut-based nonprofit organization that trains, supports, and sustains community child care providers to ensure that children and families have the foundation they need to succeed in school and in life, seeks a Provider Showcase Associate Director to support family child care providers in significantly enhancing the quality in their early education programs. This is a full time position.  

All Our Kin first opened its doors in a New Haven housing development in 1999 with two staff members, six mothers, six children, and one core belief: all children deserve access to high-quality early learning opportunities. As Connecticut has explored ways to sustain high-quality child care in a time of great economic hardship, communities and agencies throughout the state have sought to learn from and build on All Our Kin’s best practices. In response to this demand, All Our Kin expanded beyond New Haven, and is currently serving providers in Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford and New York City as well. All Our Kin has offices in New Haven, Bridgeport, Stamford and the Bronx. The Provider Showcase Associate Director will lead the Program for both the Bridgeport and Stamford/Norwalk networks . 

Growing the Provider Showcase Program:   In 2015, All Our Kin launched a new program, the Provider Showcase Program.  The Provider Showcase Program supports quality enhancements in family child care programs with the goal of significantly enhancing the quality of family child care in Fairfield County by providing training, technical support, quality enhancement funds, and tangible incentives for improvement.  The Provider Showcase Program aims to provide parents with easily understandable and accessible information about the quality and availability of family child care as well as give family child care providers opportunities to highlight their programs for parents. The program seeks a leader who will lead its continued growth and expansion in Bridgeport and Stamford/Norwalk. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

●      Recruiting family child care providers to participate in the program,

●      Planning workshops & coordinating study groups for providers in the Provider Showcase Program,

●      Working closely with family child care providers to ensure they progress through the different stages of the Provider Showcase Program,

●      Conducting observations of family child care programs to assess quality,

●      Ensuring incentives are available to providers in the program, including child care grants and bi-annual celebration dinners,

●     Building partnerships with local agencies, employers, businesses and non-profit organizations,

●     Building support for the Provider Showcase and family child care by planning workshops focused on educating parents on identifying child care,

●      Linking providers to community resources and supports,

●      Maintaining relationships with key external partners, including the National Association of Family Child Care and Connecticut Office of Early Childhood,

●      Working with All Our Kin leadership team & the Provider Showcase Program Director to refine & strengthen the Provider Showcase Program;

●      Collaborating with All Our Kin’s staff, including the Network Directors and educational consultants.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

●      Believe in the All Our Kin mission and have a deep commitment to the well-being of children, families, and child care providers,

●      Exhibit a strong ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders,

●      Possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills,

●      Be highly entrepreneurial,

●      Have a car or other means to travel to clients’ homes for individual coaching sessions,

●      Demonstrate a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information,

●      Have excellent computer skills, particularly with Word, Excel & PowerPoint,

●      Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience,

●      Be available and willing to work some early mornings, evenings and weekend days;

●      Be bilingual (Spanish/English) 

●      Have experience and understanding of early childhood, child development and childcare
