The Network Administrator is responsible for managing inter-networking equipment, servers, desktop, laptops and networking equipment in the US offices. This position works to maintain a 99% uptime of critical business IT systems. They administer all user accounts creation and manage Single Sign On (Okta) integration. This position also supervises user support for US staff, and assists field staff Help Desk tickets related to access to corporate applications. The Network Administrator is also responsible for maintaining hardware standards, hardware inventory and system maintenance contracts.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage networking equipment, servers, desktop and laptop support for US office
  • Manage Help Desk Assistant in the Washington, DC office
  • Manage and maintain Dell Kace Help Desk appliance
  • Manage the IT procurement process and procedures
  • Manage DC phone switch
  • Manage TechnoServe’s Data Security, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery plans
  • Work with outside vendor to manage all Windows-based servers in the organization
  • Manage AWS servers and resources
  • Troubleshoot and fix desktop, laptop, server and network connectivity issues and escalate appropriately when needed
  • Monitor and manage internet connections and wireless networks in US offices
  • Review, test and recommend hardware standards for the organization
  • Design, recommend and manage the US IT inventory
  • Manage the distribution of technology for US staff and field offices when required
  • Working with outside venders, manage printers and fax maintenance as necessary
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director of ICT

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 7 years of experience in a Client/Server environment; or Master’s degree plus 5 years of experience.
  • AWS Administration Experience 
  • Experience administering Windows 10, Microsoft Windows servers, Microsoft Active Directory and VMWare
  • Highly proficient in all MS operating systems
  • Knowledge of PC and MAC hardware
  • Familiarity with firewalls, routers, switches, wireless APs and MACs

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Microsoft Certifications a plus
  • AWS Certifications a plus
  • VMWare Certifications a plus

Languages: English required; Fluency in Spanish, French or Portuguese preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Highly organized and able to juggle multiple tasks
  • Able to work independently; enthusiastic self-starter
  • Interested in IT career in a mission-driven organization
  • Must be a quick learner and be able to adapt quickly
