The Project Manager will report directly to our Senior Research Manager, Emily Aisenbrey, who runs all aspects of our school partnerships. We have a quickly growing network of school partners, with whom we facilitate a variety of character development research projects, and this network is poised to more than double its current size by Summer 2018. As such, the Project Manager will liaise with school districts and current school partners, assist in the onboarding of new partners, and help ensure that our on-site research leads have everything they need to conduct fast and frictionless research. In this position, you will come into a role where you can combine your passions for education and research with your skills in project management and communication.

We are looking for an individual who has education experience, either as an educator or dealing directly with them, and understands the complexities of working with and within schools. Juggling multiple projects at once, the right candidate embraces time management, effective communication, can spot areas to improve process inefficiencies, and will thrive within our small and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with both potential and current school partners
  • Help onboard new school partners into our Research Network
  • Work directly with on-site research leads (typically a teacher) to facilitate all research efforts
  • Troubleshoot research issues with school partners and researchers as needed
  • Foster strong relationships with school partners
  • Travel on-site to meet with school partners (typically once every other month)
  • Coordinate research activities (interviews, pilots, and large-scale randomized control trials) at schools
  • Create operational procedures for managing research activities at schools
  • Train and supervise teacher contacts at partner schools

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors

  • Prolonged and irregular hours of duty, as necessary
  • Some light to medium level of manual labor (e.g., preparing mailings, moving boxes of materials)

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years relevant work experience as an educator or working with educators/schools
  • Work with multiple schools at the same time a plus
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication, collaboration, and writing skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Excellent team leadership skills
  • Fierce work ethic and sense of purpose, with the ability to work well as part of a dynamic start-up
  • Strong passion for education and social science research
