Would you like to work for a progressive, growing organization while making a difference in the world? The Infectious Diseases Society of America seeks a skilled Program Manager to lead full life cycle project management of educational programming, namely IDSA’s newly approved Leadership Institute. Using project management methodologies, this position manages the design, development and implementation of the institute in collaboration with society leadership, volunteers and appropriate staff. This position also supports other educational and programmatic needs of the society, related to professional development. 

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the design process, development, and implementation of the new IDSA Leadership Institute targeted toward next generation ID physician leaders.
  • Organize and convene a volunteer physician committee responsible for the leadership institute curriculum development and programmatic oversight, and oversee the curriculum development process.
  • Manage the development and implementation of a web-based application process, along with the notification of accepted/rejected applicants.
  • Oversee logistics, registration selection process and materials distribution for the institute.
  • Manage communication with institute faculty and participants.
  • Conduct research for project and programmatic needs including benchmarking.
  • Assist with the development and management of leadership sessions/content for IDSA’s annual conference, IDWeek.
  • Work with staff and multi-disciplinary teams to assess funding needs and priorities, along with budgetary management.
  • Conduct program evaluation data analysis and report generation.
  • Manage creation of promotional and educational materials and content related to assigned initiatives.
  • Create, maintain and grow professional relationships with internal and external partners; lead RFP processes and manages\ vendor relationships.
  • Consider revenue potential in the prioritization and execution of responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Education and Experience

3 years of experience in relevant position; experience researching, developing, implementing and evaluating new education or professional development programs required. Experience in a non-profit environment working with volunteer leadership and consensus building a plus. Bachelor Degree in relevant field. 

Skills Required

  • Strong programmatic research and writing skills a must;
  • Ability to interact successfully across all levels of members, leaders and staff;
  • Good verbal communication skills required;
  • Detail-oriented and strong program management skills with an ability to juggle multiple deadlines effectively;
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Sound critical thinking skills, initiative, and excellent problem-solving skills are highly desirable;
  • Ability to travel overnight on a periodic basis to conferences and meetings.
