We are seeking an Outreach Specialist to join the DentistLink team! DentistLink is a program that connects people to oral health care and other community services using a website and in person referral specialists. This position will work closely with oral health providers throughout Washington State to recruit them to join and retain them to participate in the Apple Health program; as well as join the DentistLink network in partnership with the Health Care Authority.

This is an annually funded position, currently funded for two years with the possibility of extension based on funding appropriated by the Washington State Legislature.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain oral health providers to accept Apple Health insurance and referrals from DentistLink
  • Recruit adult Apple Health providers to assist in peer-to-peer recruitment
  • Be proactive in contacting dental providers from across the state and develop positive relationships with them, often from the ground up
  • Have a positive, outgoing demeanor and feel comfortable being told ‘no’ regularly during the recruitment process
  • Be able to meet people where they are and demonstrate cultural sensitivity during interactions
  • Actively support dental practices by providing tools and resolving issues impacting their ability to join or participate in the program
  • Plan an organized outreach strategy and calendar to ensure all vital areas in the state are being covered and needs are being met
  • Travel throughout Washington State as necessary to meet and establish links with dental providers and community organizations while adhering to our COVID-19 policies
  • Represent DentistLink at various outreach events
  • Create and maintain current DentistLink program materials, procedure manuals, forms and reports, including program tracking materials
  • Supervise information and data in our Customer Relationship Management database.
  • Provide reports weekly at DentistLink meetings and on an ad hoc basis
  • Be a team player and be able to successfully collaborate across the organization

 Required:

  • Be committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as core tenants of this work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Proven PC knowledge, including MS Office applications and CRM tools.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and partnerships.
  • Detail oriented with consistent follow-up practices and customer focus.
  • Experience leading and implementing multiple projects and activities to meet timelines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
  • Successful experience in being self-directed and working independently.
  • Ability to travel Statewide approximately 25% - 50% of the time.
  • Position requires varied work hours and occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Must provide and maintain reliable vehicle and adequate automobile insurance.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of and experience working with provider offices, including how they function, roles, and specialists.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365.
  • Knowledge of the dental environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Apple Health and the population it serves.
