Job Description

Reporting to the Research and Evaluations Manager and working closely with the Executive Director, the Fund Development Coordinator will be responsible for leading the implementation of Apathy is Boring’s fund development strategy. This includes researching and prioritizing funding opportunities, grant writing, supporting with donor ask meetings, donor stewardship, sponsorship development (in-kind), and supporting with Apathy is Boring’s annual cocktail and donor campaign.


Fundraising 50%:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Evaluations Manager on development the Fund development strategy
  • Monitor trends in Apathy is Boring hub communities and across the country 
  • Research and track potential donors
  • Support with sponsorship development
  • Support with letter writing and application proposals for new donations
  • Maintain good communication and share impact with ongoing donors
  • Track fundraising targets and build on previous year achievements 

Grant writing 35%:

  • Research and monitor relevant call for proposals
  • Support with grant writing and building project proposals
  • Support with reporting
  • Track grant development targets and build on previous year achievements 

Communications & Events 10%

  • Develop pitch decks and presentations for donor asks 
  • Support the Communications team with fundraising events
  • Support with annual fundraising asks
  • Support the Communications Team with annual report dissemination 

Admin 5%

  • Ensure the achievement of expected timelines and deliverables, and the efficient use of human and practical resources 
  • Take part in team building and professional development activities
  • Manage timelines and track tasks completed
  • Track hours worked, maintain organized files
  • Organize and update CRM database


  • Bachelors in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Public Relations, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in Fund Development
  • Excellent written and oral English and French skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Well developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport 
  • Strong knowledge of computer and database/spreadsheet/word processing software
  • Experience with research and maintain databases
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills 
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities 
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
