Position Title: Youth Services Case Manager

Direct Supervisor: Director of Case Management

The Center for Community Alternatives (CCA) is a leader in the field of community-based alternatives to incarceration. Our mission is to promote reintegrative justice and a reduced reliance on incarceration through advocacy, services and public policy development in pursuit of civil and human rights.

CCA is seeking a qualified youth development profession to work directly with a small caseload of court-involved youth. The Youth Services Case Manager will join a dynamic team of youth development professionals committed to helping young people meet their court mandates, prevent further court involvement and achieve their educational and career goals. Services include one-on-one counseling sessions, support groups, afterschool activities, education advocacy, referrals to community-based organizations and family engagement.

 Duties and Responsibilities:   

·        Build positive, strengths-based relationships with youth, their families and communities

·        Conduct intake interviews and needs assessments with youth participants

·        Collaborate with participants to develop and execute service plans; establish goals and actions based on participants’ strengths, interests and areas of growth

·        Conduct weekly individual sessions with participants; support program participants’ progress on the implementation of their service plans

·        Monitor and document participants’ school engagement, program attendance and curfew

·        Conduct toxicology screenings to monitor substance usage

·        Perform fieldwork including home and school visits, escorting participants to appointments and conducting outreach

·        Work with Court Advocacy team to prepare regular updates to the courts and other supervising agencies

·        Participate in weekly team meetings and conference participant cases with supervisor

·        Maintains accurate record keeping via case files and designated computer database

·        Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities

·        Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and Youth Services management team


·        Bachelor’s Degree in social work, education or youth development preferred

·        Minimum 2 years professional experience working with justice-involved youth preferred

·        Knowledge and strong interest in juvenile justice issues and positive youth development practices

·        Ability to navigate multiple service delivery systems and agencies

·        Strong written and oral communication and group facilitation skills

·        Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills

·        Bilingual a plus
