About Shefa:

The Shefa School is a Jewish community day school in Manhattan, serving children in grades 1-8 who benefit from a specialized educational environment in order to develop their strengths while addressing their learning challenges. We specifically serve students with language-based learning disabilities who have not yet reached their potential levels of success in traditional classroom settings. Shefa is a pluralistic community school, serving families across the range of Jewish involvement and observance.

 

About the Position:

The Shefa School is seeking a full-time Executive Assistant to support the Head of School’s daily operation of the school, short and long-term goals, and institutional projects.


Key Responsibilities:

·     Assist with development and strategic planning

·     Communicate on behalf of Head of School with a variety of constituents including faculty members, parents, board members, donors, and outside professionals

·     Oversee Head of School’s schedule and calendar

·     Manage special projects as assigned

·     Organize and facilitate school-wide events, trips, and programs

·     Draft correspondence for Head of School

·     Collaborate with other members of school administration on various projects

·     Perform other duties as requested by the Head of School in such domains including but not limited to: admissions, hiring, programming, communications, operations, marketing, facilities, development, strategic planning


Qualifications:

·     Prior experience working in an administrative role

·     Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·     Experience with office software applications and organizational systems

·     Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills

·     Ability to learn quickly on the job and to juggle multiple priorities

·     Flexibility and ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment

·     Strong work ethic and dependability

·     Ability to take initiative and “manage up” when necessary

·     Ability to develop and maintain positive professional relationships
