The WGBH Education Department designs, produces, distributes and promotes free digital media resources to support innovative teaching and learning for all ages. Our interactive lessons, award-winning videos, and hands-on activities are designed for classrooms, homes, and community settings and delivered via mobile devices, online, and in print. Through in-person workshops, multimedia presentations, professional development, outreach campaigns, and other community engagement models, we enable our audiences to expand their knowledge, improve their skills, and enrich their lives. We are a partner with PBS in PBS LearningMedia (pbslearningmedia.org), a digital resources service/platform for K-12 education with 1.9 million registered users and more than 120,000 digital resources.

Under the supervision of the Director of Digital Learning, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing a wide range of PK-12 digital education projects and activities. Projects may include coordinating digital education resource or tool creation for PBS LearningMedia, conducting strategic market research, overseeing product testing and managing partners. For resource development efforts, the Senior Project Manager will coordinate the work of media producers, content developers and subject matter experts, ensuring high quality and on-time delivery of digital education resources. The Senior Project Manager will also participate in project and grant development, and will represent WGBH on PBS LearningMedia and other committees, leveraging knowledge of trends in PK-12 education and, more specifically in educational technology.
Project/Business Development: Manage diverse range of projects simultaneously, such as market research, content audits, and relationships with both internal (WGBH brands) and external partners.
Product Management: Oversee educational digital media production activities for assigned projects. Coordinate and manage the work of project production teams. Coordinate content creation and meet with writers/editors (along with or with the knowledge of Editorial Director), subject matter experts, producers, and designers/developers (along with or with the knowledge of Digital department leads) to ensure deliveries meet project requirements.
Participate in assigned PBS LM meetings to understand critical technical, production and marketing issues. Represent WGBH on PBS LM committees. Apply best practices in user experience design to create mockups and wireframes. Keep abreast of research and trends in digital learning in order to provide innovative ideas for new proposals.
Work on staff and budgetary allocations for production teams. Participate in capacity planning meetings to ensure projects are staffed to meet required delivery dates.
Supervise and mentor direct reports as appropriate and provides employees with equal access to opportunities for growth and advancement including professional development whenever possible.
Work with teams and others to consider innovative and cost-effective production models.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum 5-7 years experience managing complex projects. Must have experience in K-12 curriculum development as well as experience working with developers/technical teams. Strong educational media design, project management, and technical skills (familiarity with MS Office, content and project management tools). Knowledge of K-12 educational technology landscape and ability to quickly learn and synthesize new topics and bodies of information. Excellent written and oral communication, analytic and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask.

College degree required. MA or MS preferred. Project Management certification (or equivalent experience) a plus.
