Pioneers School (www.pioneers.ps) in Nablus, Palestine is seeking English teachers to work with students in Grades 1 - 6.
Early elementary classes focus on introducing students to the classroom and instilling positive work habits, as well as English letters, sounds, and written forms. Classes focus on steadily increasing students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking capabilities in English. In later elementary classes, students read both fictional and informational texts and develop their skills in reading comprehension and writing.
Experience is preferred but not necessary. The successful candidate will be flexible, energetic, positive, and strong in classroom management, in order to cultivate a love of the English language and learning in students in a safe, supportive environment. Ideal candidates have some experience with children between the ages of 5 and 12, either in a formal or informal capacity. We provide on-site training, and teachers work closely with a specific coordinator to develop skills continuously throughout the year. In many aspects, the job is closer to classroom teaching than to a typical ESL classroom.
Teaching positions are full-time.

About our city:
Nablus was one of the Palestinian cities hit hardest by the Second Intifada, but it is currently undergoing an economic rebirth. With around 300,000 people, it is one of the largest cities in the West Bank.
Nablus is still a conservative city with respect to the West Bank as a whole, and in order to maintain the school's good reputation and standing in the community, foreign teachers are expected to uphold certain standards of behavior and dress during their tenure with the school.
