NYBG’s Continuing Education Department seeks a curious, well-rounded content generator with a knack for research and an interest in plants and design to write marketing-ready content about Adult Education offerings – from Botanical Art to Landscape Design, from Gardening to Floral Design – and develop internal and external relationships with relevant partners that will raise the profile of Adult Education.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a highly informed advocate for NYBG’s Adult Education programs
  • Create marketing-ready content (newsletters, emails, social media, blog posts, promotional materials), that speaks to a variety of audiences
  • Write course descriptions for the Adult Education catalog as needed
  • Maintain familiarity with all disciplines by researching association websites, trade/consumer publications, relevant blogs, offerings from similar institutions and programs
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant external organizations to strengthen our programming
  • Interview students and faculty to create engaging stories for Adult Education’s newsletter and NYBG’s Plant Talk blog
  • Develop relationships with instructors, students, Program Coordinators, and Alumni Networks to facilitate sharing community news: awards, published work, upcoming events, etc.
  • Liaise with internal departments on Education related marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging stories and messages for a variety of audiences
  • Excellent research skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with email and social media marketing
