Job Summary: The Assistant to the Director of Development & Communications (the Assistant) will be responsible for helping and supporting the WTI Director of Development & Communications (Dir. of D & C) with a range of data entry, data management, and online communication responsibilities. This is a half-time, 6-month position.

                       

Responsibilities:

1.     Data Entry and Management

The Assistant will conduct data entry to capture key information that WTI is receiving about allies, donors, and supporters from across the United States and around the world. Under the supervision of the Dir. of D & C, the Assistant will also maintain and manage the Salsa CRM system. The Assistant will also be trained to conduct system inquiries to provide the Dir. of D & C with timely and relevant information to achieve development and communications objectives.


2.     Social Media and Email Marketing Management

Under the supervision the Dir. of D & C, the Assistant will generate, edit, publish and share engaging, timely, and visually appealing content (e.g. narrative, photos, videos and news) on WTI’s social media platforms (e.g. FB, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and through WTI’s email marketing platform, Salsa Engage; monitor and respond appropriately to comments on WTI social media platforms; and help to expand and enhance WTI’s social media presence and organizational branding. The Assistant will track and report on WTI’s social media and email marketing metrics.


3.     Website Management

Under the supervision the Dir. of D & C, the Assistant will generate, edit, and post engaging, timely, and visually appealing content on the WTI website. The Assistant will monitor and respond appropriately to communications received via the WTI website. The Assistant will track and report on WTI’s website metrics. The Assistant will also conduct periodic reviews of the website and then remove inappropriate, incorrect, and outdated content.


4.     General Assistance

The Assistant will perform any and all reasonable duties assigned by the Dir. of D & C.


Education, Experience, and Qualifications:           


·      BA in relevant field or at least three years of experience in the fields of communications, data entry and management, journalism, and social media and website management. Non-profit experience is preferred.

·      Specific experience as a Social Media Manager will be considered a major plus.

·      Excellent written communication skills.

·      Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft office programs and data bases.

·      Experience with the Salsa CRM and Salsa Engage will be considered a major plus.

·      Experience with WIX website management will be considered a major plus.

·      Ability to work independently and to work well as part of a team.

·      Commitment to social justice and abolition of the death penalty is required.


Special Condition: The Assistant to the Director of Development & Communications will be required to meet frequently at the WTI Philadelphia office. The applicant must be in the Philadelphia region or willing to relocate.

TEMPORARY: This is a 6-month position.


Hours:           18.75 hours per week (50% FTE), flexible hours.

(Some weekend and evening hours may be required)


Salary:           $16,000 per year
