The Greenwich United Way, in partnership with Family Centers, the YMCA, and the Greenwich Public Schools, is currently seeking a person with the following minimum qualifications for this full-time position:

•   Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary

Education; Master’s preferred

•   Five years minimum of successful teaching experience

•   Familiarity with national, state, and local curriculum standards and frameworks

•   Demonstrated experience in using research-based instructional strategies

•   Knowledge and experience in early childhood education, pedagogy, and assessment (including data analysis), and research-based best practices

•   Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theories

•   Demonstrated ability to work well with others

•   Commitment to the success of all students

The following are the major responsibilities of the Instructional Coach who will work with the teaching staffs of the Family Centers and YMCA pre-schools:

•   Coaches and supports teachers in the implementation of effective research-based practices

•   Co-teaches and/or models lessons for individual teachers or small groups of teachers

•   Demonstrates and models instructional strategies

•   Supports teachers in the design of lessons and activities

•   Provides data analysis support to teachers

•   Conducts classroom observations and provides feedback to teachers

•   Works collaboratively with school instructional leaders to encourage sharing of best practices

•   Supports new and veteran teachers

•   Other duties as may be assigned by management
