POSITION OVERVIEW  

The Human Resources and Operations Associate collaborates with staff across the organization to maintain and strengthen the Partnership’s Operations function with a particular focus in Human Resources. The Associate will assist and provide support for the following functional areas: recruitment and hiring, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, benefits administration, compliance and reporting, budget and project management. This entry-level position is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in a wide range of operational support areas.


POSITION OVERVIEW  

  • Support the recruiting and hiring process including posting positions to external job boards, creating materials for hiring managers, scheduling interviews and supporting editing of all position descriptions 
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes including developing and compiling resources, creating or supporting drafts of plans and portfolios and corresponding with staff 
  • Work with hiring managers to significantly support the intern hiring process
  • Run reports for HR-related data requests and assist with compliance efforts
  • Assist with and process payroll
  • Respond to benefits administration inquiries from staff and contribute to benefits administration, including Open Enrollment
  • Support budget process including creating templates, compiling and entering data into budget software and developing resources to assist staff with the budget process
  • Support ongoing project management efforts including preparing materials for meetings, trainings and staff communications
  • Support other Operations Team functions as necessary

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional work experience, including military experience
  • One to two years of experience, which may include internships
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and SharePoint is preferred
  • Experience in HR is preferred

  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/REPORTING STRUCTURE  

The Associate, Human Resources and Operations reports to the Human Resources Manager.

  

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

This job operates in a professional office environment in Washington, DC, and at external venues, both local and out-of-state. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer and scanner. Please note that as a result of COVID-19, Partnership staff are currently working remotely. 

  

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK  

This is a full-time position with regular work hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend activities may be required as well. Please note that as a result of COVID-19, the Partnership is allowing maximum flexibility in work schedules.  

  

TRAVEL  

If travel occurs, it is usually during the business day. Local travel to various federal agencies may be required. Some out of the area and/or overnight travel may be required as well. 

  

SALARY AND BENEFITS  

The Partnership offers a compensation package that includes a competitive salary; medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; long- and short-term disability insurance; a 401K program with a 4 percent employer match; opportunities for training and development; 15 days of annual leave per year, 10 days of sick leave per year, plus all federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving off; and use of an on-site exercise facility.
