 Seeds of Peace hosts a summer program at our Camp in Otisfield, Maine as a part of the organization’s youth leadership development programming. In 2021, Seeds of Peace is planning to safely host two sessions of camp serving youth of different racial, political, and religious identities from the Northeast United States, following American Camp Association and state of Maine COVID-19 guidelines.  

Seeds of Peace builds on the extra-ordinary and critical relationships and understandings reached in the Camp program through year-round local programs that focus on the core leadership capacities needed to advance peace. There are now over 7,000 Participants from 27 countries who prove that solutions exist, peace is possible, and there is reason to have hope for a better future. 

Position summary: 

Seeds of Peace seeks a Senior Camp Operations Coordinator to join our multinational programming team.  In this role, you will manage all logistical and operational aspects for Seeds of Peace Camp. This role will begin as a part-time role (approximately 15 hours a week) in March, based within driving distance to the campgrounds in Otisfield, Maine to oversee facilities projects with the maintenance director and to liaise with local contractors. In the months when Camp is in session (June-August), you will be based full-time on Campgrounds in Otisfield, Maine. In 2021, this position will play a crucial role in ensuring that camp is safe, healthy, and inclusive.  

 Currently, this role is designated for March through August 2021, with the potential to extend and broaden the scope of the role upon mutual agreement.  

Compensation: $22-24 per hour, March - May: part time at approximately 15 hours/week , June - August: full-time exempt . 

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

• Implements risk management protocols, health protocols, and emergency response procedures, ensuring safe practices and a healthy camp environment 
• Designs risk management protocols, health protocols, and emergency response procedures in accordance with ACA guidelines, Maine state regulations, and best practices 
• Maintains up-to-date understanding and documentation of regulations and manuals for ACA accreditation process and Maine DHHS inspections 
• Serve as primary contact and legal representative for ACA accreditation process and Maine inspections 
• Acts a primary point of contact for all camp vendors, executing contracts, including COI's, W-9's, etc, maintaining relationships and proper documentation 
• Manages logistical aspects of camper and staff application processes (collecting forms, paperwork, health forms, payments, and systems-design) 
• Manages end-of-season closing logistics on-site  
• Coordinates camp logistics, including staff and camper travel to Camp.  

 Additional Responsibilities at Camp Include: 

• Manages camp office, setting up necessary technology, and coordinates camp finances and human resources with Seeds of Peace Financial and Admin team  
• Manages camp supplies inventories; manages and oversees camp supply orders with vendors 
• Manages camp risk management protocols, medical protocols, and emergency protocols 
• Coordinates camp logistics, including finance and maintenance  
• Supports Camp programming team in Camp schedules and adherence to protocols  

Who are you? 

You have: 

• 2-3 years’ experience in an administrative role at an ACA accredited residential camp , preferably in Maine  
• experience leading complex logistical systems 
• experience in youth environments
