The Director of Brand Strategy and Communications (Director) creates and implements the organization’s overall communications strategy in a five-year plan, with annual key performance indicators. Reporting to the CDO & working closely with the CEO, the Director will work collaboratively with senior leadership to develop and implement communication strategies to broaden the reach of The Resurrection Project’s impact, programs. The Director provides strategic and tactical leadership to support fundraising, special events, and public speaking/visibility opportunities. This role works under our Institutional Advancement (IA) Pillar. Its purpose aligns and integrates fundraising, brand strategy, marketing and communications, and capitalization efforts to achieve TRP’s five-year goals. IA includes two departments: fundraising and marketing/communications. The teams work closely with TRP Programs, IT, and Accounting to strengthen the TRP brand by raising TRP’s visibility and increasing resources through compelling storytelling (client/participant testimonials). During the next five years a key focus is the Adelante Juntos!/Together Forward! initiative.

• Brand Strategy Development - develop and implement TRP’s brand strategy across all organizational entities. 

- Evolve and apply TRP’s brand strategy to meet the needs of different audiences. 

- Collaborate with the Information Technology team to measure performance and provide informed decision making to teams across TRP.

- Optimize the manner in which audience research and insights are used to guide approaches, decisions and performance measurement for TRP’s growing markets. 

• Digital Marketing – continuously improve TRP’s reach and consumer engagement, manage five or six websites and strengthen TRP’s social media presence.

• Integrated Communications and Marketing - develop and execute integrated plans across TRP. Requires demonstrated command of and executional experience with an extensive set of communications and marketing strategies and tactics.

• Brief Development - ground brand and communication strategies in deep brand, marketing and audience understandings. Draft clear and simple creative materials that combine knowledge of available data, market research, and TRP audiences with brand proposition to inform marketing in actionable ways.

• Assist in managing the communications and marketing budget.

• Supervise the Marketing and Communications Manager and manages relationships with consultants.

• Stays informed on key trends, reports, and studies that are relevant to TRP’s work.

• Trains staff, board, and other volunteers on strategies to communicate TRP’s work externally as appropriate.


• Create and implement of a multi-year brand strategy and annual communications and marketing plan.

• Create a crisis communications plan.

• Co-create collateral material for programs, events, social media, and fundraising in English and Spanish.

• Achieve annual goals and key performance indicators.

• Complete professional development goals.

• Manage the assigned budget.

• A strong track record positioning a growing, complex organization to achieve tangible outcomes in a competitive environment. 

• Bilingual proficiency with spoken and written English and Spanish is Required.

• At least ten (10) years direct experience in brand strategy and communications, with managerial experience, in a fast-paced growth environment.

• Direct experience using technology platforms and tools including Salesforce, Google Analytics, and others.

• Ability to coach and support staff and clients as spokespersons. 

• Excellent project management skills.

• Experience creating and implementing communications and marketing plans utilizing diverse channels.

• Clear thinker who can write and recognize clean, concise, compelling copy for diverse audiences and platforms.

• Creative writer capable of analyzing sector news and trends and synthesize complex ideas into engaging and easy to understand copy.

• Superior project management and planning skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.

• Ability to maintain high standards and work quality.

• Ability to effectively present information to different audiences.

• Expert in data interpretation and analysis.

• Proficiency in all Microsoft Platforms, Adobe Suite, Word Press, Social Media Platforms, Web Development Tools and Applications.

• Ability to work with teams and engage others.

• Bachelor’s degree required. A master’s degree preferred.

• Ability to drive and travel occasionally within city and suburbs, and potentially out of state.
