General Duties

The Specialist, Learning and Instructional Design, serves as team lead to create and improve the instructional/training/learning portfolio in order to make the acquisition of knowledge and skill more efficient, effective, and appealing for health center professionals and community board members.

Responsibilities include:

1.      Analyze and design comprehensive training approaches for updated, new, and/or mobile learning initiatives for health center professionals and community board members

2.      Assure content quality thru collaboration with subject matter experts and other NACHC TTA team members in all phases of design and development of learning activities

3.      Present ideas to diverse stakeholders and solicit/incorporate feedback to make necessary changes to instructor led trainings and eLearning modalities

4.      Build learning modules that utilize the latest technological tools to be pursued individually and as a part of a larger curriculum

5.      Apply project management experience to ensure successful and timely execution of education programs that enhance retention and transfer of knowledge

6.      Test course functionality, including exercises, quiz applications, animated graphics and interactive sections, to validate accreditation and knowledge checks

7.      Revise web-based courses and in-person trainings based on user evaluations and industry best practices to determine necessary modifications to training content and delivery

8.      Develop and implement online and in-person learning opportunities geared for different levels of user experience in order diversity and broaden the training audience

9.      Curate the Health Center Resource Clearinghouse site of the National Resource Center for Training and Technical Assistance to expand functionality and resources on an ongoing basis

                             

Requirements

·        5+ years of experience leading or co-leading an instructional design portfolio and applying instructional design methodologies in various training environments (i.e.: classroom, virtual, eLearning); association, healthcare, or education background preferred

·        Bachelor’s degree in an education, scientific, or health-related field with a master’s degree and/or specific training in instructional design preferred

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office, instructional design development tools and software (i.e.: Articulate Storyline), web-based applications and learning management systems with mobile apps experience a plus as well as openness to learning and adapting new technology

·        Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities with tight deadlines, fast paced environment and limited supervision

·        Superior communication skills across audiences and formats; demonstration of cross-team collaboration skills and ability to think strategically and creatively while offering insight and recommendations
