  • Write and edit grant proposals, cover letters, follow-up correspondence, interim and final reports as assigned for foundation, government and corporate opportunities
  • Help to manage tracking systems for foundation proposals, reports and materials in order to meet deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Stay abreast of philanthropic trends and most recent foundation giving
  • Conduct research and identify new opportunities for funding that align with SCO programs and mission, including outreach and relationship-building
  • Coordinate and interface with program staff to develop grant proposals
  • Serve as a contact with foundation program officers as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • At least 2 years of grants experience or comparable work with foundations, preferably at a nonprofit organization with a budget of at least $10 million
  • Excellent communication skills with strong written and oral presentation abilities
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team player
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft office programs is required and experience in development databases such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge is highly desirable
  • BA or BS degree
  • Commitment to SCO mission and goals
