Position Description Summary: DOROT’s Social Workers provide case assistance and support to isolated and homebound seniors. This includes assessing seniors for all of DOROT’s Programs and interviewing and matching volunteers for DOROT’s Friendly Visiting program. Social Workers participate in and support DOROT’s intergenerational volunteer programs. 

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Responsible for in-home and on-site assessments and reassessments of older adults

·        Exclusive field work days on a regular basis

·        Provide case assistance to older adults, their caregivers, volunteers, and other constituents

·        Provide information, referral, and advocacy to DOROT’s constituents

·        Recruit, screen, interview, and orient volunteers for the Friendly Visiting Program (periodically in the evening)

·        Collaborate with social work team on volunteer and senior recruitment, screening, orientation/training, matching and providing ongoing support to matches

·        Support a full caseload of Senior and Volunteer relationships

·        Represent DOROT at community outreach meetings and conferences, and network with local agencies/organizations

·        Work collaboratively with the Director of Evaluation and other staff to analyze program/project impact, identify gaps and develop recommendations for program improvement

·        Collect, track and maintain case assessment and related client interactions using DOROTs’ online database (CIMS); this involves routine data entry and review of monthly statistics for internal needs and reports to funders

·        Supervise interns, office volunteers, and students as needed 

·        Provide support to and participate in DOROT’s community-wide intergenerational volunteer programs

·        Special projects as assigned by Director

Required Qualifications:

·       1- 2 years of professional social work experience working with an elderly population

·        LMSW required

·        Strong interpersonal and clinical skills

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Strong group facilitation and presentation skills
